The Alpine Hospital Team consists of 3 caring Doctors, Registered Veterinary Technologists, a Certified Animal Naturopathic Consultant, extremely helpful Kennel Assistants and warm, inviting Receptionists.


Dr. Jim Standish


Dr. Standish graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978 with a background in mixed animal practice. He has an interest in surgeries, particularly orthopedic, ears, eyes and throat surgeries. Dr. Standish has been an owner partner at Alpine A.H. since 2006 and is one of the senior veterinarians in the clinic. His hobbies include gardening and photography, if you’ve ever been to the clinic in the summer you have seen the beautiful Peonies from his garden.


His goal is to “ensure that clients are completely informed and their problems are addressed and taken care of”.

Dr. Jaswant Singh


Dr. Singh graduated from the College of Veterinary Sciences Ludhiana of PAU, India in 1985 with a background in mixed animal practice. He is both a member of the CVMA (Canadian Veterinary Medical Association) and the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) due to the fact that he once practiced in both Michigan and Virginia. Dr. Singh joined the A.A.H. team in 2006 and is part owner. His has an interest in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, preventive medicine and regularly attends conferences to stay up to date with the newest technologies. Dr. Singh’s eldest son is also a veterinarian, practicing in California. Dr. Singh enjoys travelling, hiking and soccer.

His goal is to “make sure your pet gets the best and affordable professional helps at A.A.H.”


Dr. Kulwinder Chhoker


Dr. Chhoker graduated from the Punjab Agriculture University in India in 1983 with a background of mixed practice. He joined the A.A.H. team in 2008 with a temporary Canadian license and acquired his full Canadian license in 2010. Dr. Chhoker has the enviable ability to remember several doses of medications, where most of us would need to revisit our books for clarification, he can dose all from memory. He is also the doctor in our clinic with the most surgical hours under his belt per week, due to the fact that when he first joined the team, it was his primary role. Dr. Chhoker enjoys playing volleyball, reading and constantly learning new and interesting things.
