Our senior pets are always a favourite around the clinic. We have cared for many of these pets since they were puppies and kittens. We want them to be healthy and a part of your family for as long as possible.

Routine blood work is one way we can help with that. With technological advances, we can now run blood tests in the clinic that will allow us to detect kidney changes much earlier than ever before!

It’s said that 1 in 3 cats will be diagnosed with kidney disease in its lifetime. Sometimes estimates are as high as 50% and 80% of cats over the age of 15 years will suffer from this awful disease. By the time kidney disease is detected with the traditional methods, nearly 75% of kidney function is already lost.

Don’t wait until your pet is showing signs of illness, do routine blood tests. Though kidney disease is incurable, it is highly treatable, particularly if its caught early.

Our Golden Years Package does a detailed analysis of the internal organs, including the liver, kidneys, pancreas, blood cell counts and a few more. By viewing the levels of these organs the doctors are able to see if any underlying medical issues are present. Blood tests can often answer questions the examination cannot. Pets can have symptoms that are very easy for owners to detect, such as increased thirst and/or urination, while on the other hand, some pets show no symptoms at all which is where doing blood work is the best options.
